On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina’s eyewall made landfall in Plaquemines Parish decimating the landscape taking with it the Town of Buras’ water tower. PEEC was hired by Plaquemines Parish to construct a new water tower to replace the old one. PEEC understood and embraced the challenge to restore water to the region, and just as important we understood that we must deliver a beacon and icon to symbolize the recovery and feed the spirit of the people of Plaquemines Parish. We delivered on our promise.
